Q:Can I just buy COVID-19 treatment coverage only? I'm traveling to the Philippines. I am 66 yrs old, departs April 8, return July 7. I'm from California

A:
There are not plans that will only include the medical coverage for COVID-19. However, there are options that will include the coverage for COVID-19, the same as any other illness or injury that were contracted after the effective date of a plan. You may view and quote the applicable plans in the COVID-19 Travel Medical Insurance section of our website. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance, you may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:I have visitor insurance. Where can i find in-network and out of network hospitals.

A:
Your plan does not have a PPO network. Therefore, you can go to any provider. It will be up to the provider if they want to direct bill, or have you pay them up front for services and then you would file a claim for reimbursement. As long as the services were for covered expenses, you plan will reimburse you up to your plan's benefit levels. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:My in-law and parents are of ages 77 , 79. What would be the best comprehensive coverage. Prexisitng for one parent includes low diabetes (controlled via medicine), BP (controlled via medicine).

A:
The plans for visitors can cover for new illnesses and new injuries that occur, manifest, or are contracted after the effective date of the policy. The plans will not cover for preventative care, routine maintenance, or pre-existing conditions. Some plans include a benefit for an acute onset benefit of pre-existing conditions, and this is the link for you to review the acute onset benefit information: /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ We would recommend the Atlas America policy which for their age group would match your selected policy maximum level for acute onset benefits. /atlasamerica-insurance/ However, if the person who is currently 79 is going to have a birthday while visiting the U.S. and turn 80, we would recommend purchasing the plan for the entire duration of their stay. If you are extending the policy throughout their stay and they turn 80, the price will significantly increase once they have turned 80 and you try and extend the policy. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:Is it possible to get the medical insurance on just email and without a plastic card mailed?

A:
Most plans provide the printable ID card within 30 minutes after purchase. Each plan will offer different fulfillment options. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:Hello, I currently have an active travel insurance policy, and I am traveling in the United States. I am concerned that I may have Covid 19, and I am curious what expenses will be covered if this is the case? For example, a PCR test tomorrow will cost me 139. Is this only covered if i test positive? What happens if i do test positive? I am supposed to travel to Nicaragua on Tuesday, and if i am positive, then i will not be able to travel. I already paid 3100 CAD for an airbnb over the last 10 days, and so I will be forced to extend my accommodations beyond March 15th. If I can return to Nicaragua on March 15th I have free accommodations, so this is my biggest concern because accommodations in Austin, Texas are likely to be 200 USD/night to stay beyond my current flight ticket. Also, to purchase a new ticket, and then testing again to find out if i can fly. Will all of this be covered?Thank you in advance. Curtis
