Q:With regard to the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive, is it less expensive to buy a longer term policy or are the premiums the same to buy by the month? And what is the refund policy if the policy is terminated before the end date?

A:
Premiums are calculated on a daily rate based on age so it doesn't matter if you choose to purchase per month or for the whole duration unless there is an age group change or if you are purchasing a plan that has an extension fee. The Safe Travels USA Comprehensive doesn't have an extension fee. You may click here to view more information regarding the cancellation procedure and rules. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I'm a J1 holder, with my husband and kids on their J2. Some of us already purchased some insurance plans from our home country (Taiwan), so now we're looking for plans that would cover up the gaps we have. I am looking for a plan that would cover from 2019/10/10 to 2020/07/15: Myself and 3 kids for: - Repatriation of remains in the amount of $5,000. My husband: - Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness; - Repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000; - Expenses associated with medical evacuation to your home country in the amount of $50,000; - A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness. Would you please suggest me possible offers that would meet above criteria at the minimal cost? Thank you very much for help in advance.

A:
You can run quotes in our J1/J2 Visa Insurance insurance section based on your specific information. Please note you will need to purchase a separate policy for your husband. You may purchase online or give us a call at +1 (866) INSUBUY to complete the applications over the phone.

Q:My parents who are both 67 years of age are visiting US for 2 months. I would like to get an insurance for both of them. They are both taking medication for diabetes and cholesterol. My father recently had angioplasty procedure and had to put 2 stents. My mom doesn't have any other issues apart from cholesterol and diabetes. Also they have high blood pressure too. Can you please suggest me an affordable insurance that i can take for them and what all are covered. Let me know if you need any other information to get me a quote.

A:
We would be glad to advise. All plans on the market for visitors cover new illnesses and new injuries that occur or manifest after the effective date. They do not cover things that are preventative, routine, or pre-existing. Some plans do include Acute onset benefits of pre-existing conditions and I have attached the information link below to explain that benefit option. If your parents are traveling on B2 visitor visas, you can run quotes here, with their other specific information to see what plans would be available to them and the cost of the plans as well. We do recommend the Comprehensive plans, as the Fixed plans are limited benefit plans. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
