Q:Husband and Wife, both J1 need insurance My husband and I are going to the University of Florida next August as Research Scholars, for one year, each one with a J-1 visa. We are trying to buy insurance that complies with US government requirements for J-1 visa holders (medical benefits and repatriation). My husband is 69 years old while I am 67 years old. Could you give me information on plans that suit us both? I also would like some information regarding: 1. What is the monthly payment? Or we need to pay at once. 2. What are the benefits? (that is, what are we covered for?) . For instance, if I need to go to a doctor, how much the plan covers... and so on.

A:
Hello, Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Please provide the list of requirements that your university has provide so that we can recommend plans accordingly. Navigator student brochure, instant purchase and other useful information, /geo-blue-navigator-student-insurance/ Please review this and if you have any further questions feel free to contact us. So Navigator Student Plan is the only one meets the coverage I need? Unlimited benefit per Policy Year The deductible does not exceed $75.00 per injury/illness $ 50,000 Minimum coverage for Evacuation Expenses to your home country if necessary $ 25,000 Minimum coverage for Repatriation of Remains to your home country in case of death That’s correct because your school is asking for unlimited benefit other plans have max. limit like $200k, or $500k etc.

Q:Questions regarding J1/J2 insurance plans Hi, I am from Vietnam, and am going to come to the US to study my master degree. I want my wife to have coverage while in the US and am interested in Atlas America and American Patriot (I myself have to buy the school's plan). I have some questions about these 2 plans: 1. Does these 2 plans cover the lost/damaged baggage or delayed flight of my wife from Vietnam to the US, or do I have to buy another international plan? 2. Are the PPO networks of 2 plans the same or different? I see Atlas is with First Health network and Patriot is with First Health/Coventry network. 3. From my research, 2 networks are different since I see the First Heath/Coventry providers list includes many providers that I also see in the PPO network of a better plan United Healthcare (the one my school offers). So does it mean Patriot has better and larger network than Atlas has? 4. In Atlas's PPO network, I see no hospitals in Nashville, TN, while Patriot's one has many. Is the database of that PPO network correct since I think it is unusual for a PPO network to have no hospitals in providers list. Thank you for your consideration.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Answer for your questions below: 1. Plan will provide $250 for loss of checked luggage and it will be secondary to any other benefits you get from airline. It does not cover flight delay. Because this is your medical insurance NOT Trip insurance. If you want you can purchase separate trip insurance to cover flight delay or missed flight etc. 2. That’s correct. 3. Patriot has Coventry/ First health while Atlas has only First Health. Yes. 4. Please provide the zip code so we can also look and let you know. How long do you need coverage for her? You can also look at Patriot Exchange plan which is suitable for J2/F2 visa holder. Patriot Exchange brochure, instant purchase link, /patriot-exchange-program-insurance/ You can compare Atlas And Patriot plan at www.insubuy.com or visit our F1/F2 visa insurance section at, /international-student-medical-insurance/ Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. Thank you for the quick response. As to your question, the Zip Code of my address in the US is 37212. So as you said, the Patriot Exchange plan will fit the most to my wife, right? I wonder does it has any better benefits, other than a larger and better PPO network, than the Atlas American plan has? I read the big thread on "Sharing experience" on Immihelp and saw that Atlas is a very popular plan. I looked at the PPO network and found same number of hospitals within 10 miles for both atlas and patriot Exchange plan. Atlas and Patriot Exchange plan is for J1 visa while Patriot America plan is mostly for visitor. You can purchase either of the plan. Please compare both plans at, /j1-visa-health-insurance/ And decide which plan fits your need. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:Question about visitor insurance My fiancé and I want to have a family celebration in Chicago. That's where I'm from. He's from England. His father is late 60's and 5 years ago he had a heart attack. He hasn't had any issues since, and he's in good health. He's looked into coverage to go to the US in December, but he can only find very expensive coverage. Around ₤1,800! I want to know what sort of coverage you could offer him and my soon to be mother-in-law (she's never had any medical problems)? My fiancé and I live in Hong Kong, so I don't have insurance in the States that I can use or get info from. Please let me know what it would cost to cover both of them?
