Inbound® Immigrant

Injury & Sickness Medical Insurance For Visitors & Immigrants

5 Days to 1,820 Days

How Inbound Immigrant Insurance Works

First

The deductible is met once per incident (injury or sickness), even for doctor visits.

Then

The plan pays fixed amounts according to the schedule of benefits and you pay the difference.

Overview

Inbound Immigrant is a fixed coverage plan for new immigrants to the United States. You can obtain an instant quote and/or purchase online on this web site. The insurance coverage can start as early as the next day or any future date you specify. As soon as you make a purchase, you will receive a virtual id card in your email. Physical cards along with the policy will be mailed to you on the next business day. You should receive them in about five to seven business days within the United States.

What is covered and not covered?

Inbound Immigrant will generally pay for new medical conditions, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy. It does not cover any expenses related to pre-existing conditions, preventive check ups or immunizations. However, it covers an acute onset of pre-existing conditions up to the policy maximum per period of coverage for persons below the age of 70 years.

Prescription drugs are covered according to the schedule of benefits for covered medical expenses.

Dental is not covered. Consider a low cost plan from CAREINGTON that provides excellent dental coverage.

How much is covered?

First, you will have to pay a deductible (varies from $0 to $200) per incident (injury or sickness) before the insurance plan starts paying anything for the covered expenses, even for doctor visits. You will need to continue to pay all the money yourself until you have completely satisfied the deductible. The deductible is not just for hospitalization. There is no concept of copay.

The deductible is applied only towards the eligible expenses.

Once you have satisfied the deductible, the plan pays fixed amounts according to the schedule of benefits up to the policy maximum. As you have to pay the difference beyond the benefit amount that is covered, there is no out of pocket maximum.

Example:

Let's assume that you have taken $50,000 policy maximum with a $50 deductible.

  • Let's assume that the doctor charges $140/visit and you need to make 4 visits.

For a doctor's visit, the insurance plan covers $60. You have put $50 towards satisfying the deductible, at this point your deductible has been met. The insurance plan will reimburse you $10. For the second visit, since you have satisfied your deductible, the insurance plan will reimburse you $60. For subsequent visits treating the same incident, it will pay $60/visit, 1 visit/day, 30 visits max.

  • Let's assume you need the emergency room for a separate incident. The charges for the emergency room come to $2,400. The insurance plan covers up to $200. Since the deductible has not been met, the insurance plan will reimburse $150 and you will pay the remaining $2,250.

  • Let's assume that you were in an accident and are hospitalized for 3 days and need one surgery, the total bill is $40,000. The insurance plan will pay $1,500/day for hospital room/board for 3 days and $2,100 for surgery. Since the $50 deductible has not been met that would be withheld.

    $1,500 x 3 = $3,500 + $2,100 = $5,600 - $50 = $5,550
    $40,000 - $5,550 = $34,450

The amount of $34,450 would be the patient responsibility.
