Question:

Thank you for your response. I know what physicians and hospitals covered under my zip code. My question was specifically for urgent/emergency care and not regular hospital visits. If none of your plans cover this in my locality, the plans are not useful to us. I also know that some plans cover acute onset of pre-ex (and that is what I am planning to buy). But the question here is - if my parents are in a network like First Health PPO (or any other network) under a comprehensive plan, where can we go in case of an emergency? Please help me understand this specific detail. We will only buy a plan that will have emergency or urgent care coverage in our locality. My dad's age is 75. He is arriving on Dec 17.. I am planning to go for a $200K cover for him.

Answer:

If there is no urgent care in your area under First Health PPO network you can go out of network then there will not be any contracted rates. There are only two plans which provide coverage for an acute onset of pre-existing conditions for age 70+ and both of the plan has same network that is First Health PPO network.

We have many insurance plan without PPO network and many customers buy those plans also. If person needs major hospitalization you can go in network and urgent care you can visit out of network.

Please find more information regarding out of network claim process in International medical insurance.

Your dad age is  75 years and you need coverage for $200k in that case Atlas America is the only plan that will work for your dad. Atlas America $200k coverage will provide coverage for new sickness, injuries or accidents up to policy max that is $200k but acute onset of coverage will be only $100k.
