International Student Insurance

Question:

I am confuse on what is the coverage exactly for Exchange Guard. Can you break it down for me please? In case of accidents, what expenses are included, hospitals. Do you cover visit at the doctors "in network"? And clinic visits for non emergencies?

Answer:

The ExchangeGuard plan will primarily provide coverage for new illnesses, injuries or accidents which occur after the effective date of the policy. For any eligible medical expenses the plan will pay either 100% up to the policy maximum, after the deductible or 80% of the first $5,000, and then 100% to the policy maximum. You have the option to select out of one of these two coinsurance options. This plan has two options either the Choice or Essential. The ExchangeGuard Essential has a 12 month waiting period for pre-existing conditions, and the ExchangeGuard Choice has a 6 month waiting period before pre-existing conditions are covered in the amount of $500.

This plan utilizes the First Health PPO network. You may visit any provider you'd like, but in-network providers have agreed to contract negotiated rates and are more likely to provide direct billing. Please use the link provided below to search for providers within your area.
