I am trying to purchase a visitor insurance for my mother who will be traveling to USA in December. Dates of travel: Dec 21 - Apr 1 Age: 55 What comprehensive insurance plans would you recommend? I am looking for something that has coverage for pre-existing conditions as well.
There will be several plans available to your mother during her visit in the United States. There are comprehensive plans called Atlas America and Patriot America Plus that are options that are available to her.
Plans are designed to cover the new accidents and new illness that occur after the effective date of the policy. Plans do not cover pre-existing conditions or maintenance visits as it relates to pre-existing conditions, preventative care or medications as it relates to pre-existing conditions.
Some plan will offer coverage for an Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition. Please see the link for a detailed description of and acute onset of a pre-existing condition. The determination of an acute onset of a pre-existing condition will be determined at the time of the claim according to the certificate wording and the attending physician notes.
