I am considering purchasing Atlas America medical insurance for my parents who are visiting the US from India and I have the following questions : Can I purchase the insurance for my parents with my own card ? Can I purchase this insurance in Washington state and is it valid in this state? My parents will visit Seattle for an extended period of time and it appears all insurances are not valid under WA state laws. Will adding one of my parents as spouse (and not another primary insured) lead to lesser benefits compared to having both as primary beneficiaries? Will the insurance plan be valid for health coverage in multiple states (we will travel and stay in NY, WA and CA) ?
The Atlas America plan can be purchase by you on your parents behalf. The benefit are always individual so there would not be one getting more coverage than the other just because they are listed as a spouse on the plan.
As long as the plan I purchased prior to their arrival into the state of Washington then the plan would be valid for them. The plan will cover them in all 50 states and anywhere outside of the home country.
