I am planning to buy insurance for my father who is visiting from India in June. On your website in the acute onset FAQ, it is mentioned that acute onset of preexisting conditions will be covered by your insurance. My father suffered a heart attack in November 2009 for which he was treated with angioplasty with stent placement. I would like to understand if he suffers another heart attack in the future while he is in United States or traveling to United States, and is insured under your Insurance, will his medical treatment be covered? Will it be covered as a pre-existing condition or as a regular emergency situation. Based on the above, could you please let me know the policy to apply for?

Yes.Atlas America plan has coverage for acute onset of pre-ex below age 70yrs.. It will be determined by the claim dept. based on attending physician notes whether it's acute onset of pre-ex or not.
