New Immigrant Insurance

Question:

I am looking to purchase temporary health insurance for my husband. He is in the final stages of his application for immigrating to the U.S. and he should be able to do so at the end of the month. I am a U.S. citizen and we are moving from Canada to Oregon (Linn County specifically.) As a new immigrant who is not eligible for medicaid what are his options? He is 35 years old and in good health. We plan to sign him up for private health insurance but as I understand that will take about 2 months from the time we enter the country to the time that could start so we need something for the meantime. Your website recommended I International Major Medical. Would he be eligible for International Major Medical and what would the costs be for that plan? I can't seem to find that on your website. Any information you can provide me with would be much appreciated.

Answer:

Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs.  The International Major Medical is available and to obtain a quote you can click on purchase and put in the basic information. The plans will cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date. Plans do not cover pre-existing conditions, preventative care, or routine maintenance. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.
