F Visa Holders
Most schools in the US require that international students carry sufficient international student medical insurance. While most schools offer their own insurance, many among them also allow international students to waive the school insurance if they have an appropriate alternate insurance plan.

J Visa Holders
The U.S. Department of State mandates that J visa holders have sufficient medical insurance.

Study Abroad Program
Most study abroad programs require the participants to carry study abroad insurance.

It is designed specifically for international students and exchange visitors. StudentSecure insurance offers four levels of coverage to choose from:

The StudentSecure Elite plan provides the highest level of coverage - $500,000 in policy maximum.

The StudentSecure Select plan provides a good amount of coverage - a $500,000 policy maximum.

ExchangeGuard Insurance
ExchangeGuard insurance provides coverage to F1 visa holders, exchange visitors on J1 visa as well as their dependents on an F2 and a J2 visa, respectively.
ExchangeGuard is a family friendly insurance plan, meaning that for each insured parent a dependent child under the age of 10 years is insured at no additional cost.
You can buy for the exact number of days that you would like, not just a full number of months.
ExchangeGuard has two plan variations:

ExchangeGuard Choice
ExchangeGuard Choice has a waiting period of 6 months before it provides coverage for pre-existing conditions.

ExchangeGuard Essential
ExchangeGuard Essential has a waiting period of 12 months for pre-existing conditions coverage.

Study USA - HealthCare
Study USA - HealthCare is an additional international student insurance plan and it provides 3 levels of coverage:

Study USA - Standard
Study USA Standard is the most affordable option to purchase; this plan provides a policy maximum of $200,000.

Study USA - Preferred
Study USA Preferred provides a policy maximum of $300,000, with slightly better coverage than the Standard plan.

Study USA - Platinum
Study USA Platinum provides the most coverage of all the plans and offers a $500,000 policy maximum.

Unfortunately, StudentSecure insurance does not provide any coverage to the dependents.
Aside from those differences, the plans are nearly the same.
All WorldTrips international student insurance plans participate in either the United Healthcare or First Health PPO Network, both networks have a wide network of healthcare providers all across the United States.
