Descriptions of Coverages
The following descriptions are a limited summarization of the various coverages available through Trawick International's travel insurance plans. Coverage availability varies by plan type. There are certain restrictions, exclusions and limitations that apply to all services and coverages. Plan benefits, limits, and provisions may vary by state. To review full plan details, please refer to the Certificate of Insurance. You will receive a Certificate of Insurance depending on your country and state of residence and description of 24-hour emergency assistance services which describes the benefits and limitations in detail.
Coverage | Description |

Acute Onset of Pre-Existing Conditions | Provides coverage of a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-Existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration, is rapidly progressive, and requires urgent and immediate medical care when the conditions of the policy are followed. |
AD&D | Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage for coma, loss of life or limbs as a result of a covered accidental injury anytime during the coverage period. Payment may be a percentage of the principle sum, based on the loss according to the plans Certificate of Coverage. |
Baggage & Personal Effects | Provides reimbursement for personal articles that are lost, stolen or damaged while on your trip. |
Baggage Delay | Provides reimbursement for the purchase of clothing, toiletries, and other essential items if luggage is delayed to the destination by the time requirement indicated in the policy. |
Benefit | The amount agreed to be paid by the insurance carrier to the insured. |
Cancel For Work Reasons | Expands covered reasons for Trip Cancellation to include additional cancel for work reasons. |
Co-Insurance | The amount to be paid by you after you first pay the plan's deductible. |
Coverage | The specific category, including sub-categories, for which the policy provides protection. |
Deductible | The dollar amount of covered expenses that must be incurred as an out-of-pocket expense by each insured on a per policy term basis before medical expense benefits and/or other additional benefits paid on an expense incurred basis, are payable under the policy. |
Emergency Accident & Sickness Medical Expenses | Provides coverage for emergency medical treatment if a sickness or injury occurs while traveling. |
Emergency Medical & Hospitilization | Provides coverage for the injury or illness that occurs during the policy period and medical or surgical treatment is required. |
Emergency Medical Evacuation | Provides arrangement to medically transport a patient to an appropriate medical facility or to return home after being deemed fit for travel, also includes repatriation. |
Emergency Reunion | Provides reimbursement for air transportation and local travel related expenses for an immediate family member to accompany you to your home country or join you at the hospital where you are confined. |
Flight AD&D | Provides coverage for loss of life, limbs or sight from a covered accidental injury anytime during travel or as a passenger on a common carrier. |
Lost Baggage | Provides reimbursement for the replacement of necessities if your luggage is checked into a common carrier and is then lost, stolen or damaged beyond use. |
Missed Connection | Provides reimbursement for unused, non-refundable expenses and additional costs such as accommodations, transportation and meals if your cruise or land tour connection is missed by the time requirement indicated in the policy if the cause of delay is for a covered reason. |
Political/Natural Disaster Evacuation | Provides coverage for extrication from the host country due to an occurrence which could result in grave physical harm or death. |
Repatriaiton of Remains | Provides the arrangement, preparation and transportation of the insured's body to his or her home in the event of death due to an injury or sickness that occurs during the covered travel period. |
Return of Minor Children or Travel Companion | Provides reimbursement for the transportation of minor children, as defined by the policy, home in the event you suffer an injury or sickness and must be confined to the hospital for the policies specified amount of time. |
Trip Cancellation | Provides reimbursement of non-refundable trip payments and deposits when a trip is cancelled for a specific covered reason. |
Trip Delay | Provides reimbursement for meals and accommodations and lost prepaid expenses when a trip is delayed by the time requirement indicated in the policy. |
Trip Interruption | Provides reimbursement of non-refundable trip payments and deposits when a trip is interrupted for a specific covered reason. |
Unexpected Recurrence of Pre-Existing Conditons | Provides coverage for covered medical expenses resulting from a sudden, unexpected recurrence of a pre-existing medical condition while traveling outside of the insured's home country. |
