Bridge Plan Insurance vs Green Cover Insurance

Bridge Plan Insurance vs Green Cover Insurance

Elderly new immigrants in the United States are not eligible to enroll into the U.S. Medicare program, as they have not worked in the U.S. as required for Medical eligibility; for most people 65 and older, 10 years of work history is the minimum. Most domestic insurance companies in the U.S. do not offer medical insurance to individuals older than 65 because they expect people 65 years and above to enroll into Medicare. Therefore, such individuals need a temporary medical coverage meanwhile.

Fortunately, both Bridge Plan Insurance and Green Cover Insurance are available to new immigrants waiting to become eligible to purchase Medicare. Green card holders 60 years of age and above are eligible to enroll into either of the plans. The policy maximums and deductible choices offered for each plan for a given age are the same. The Green Cover premium cost is a few dollars less compared to Bridge Plan insurance.

While these plans are similar to each other, there are a few important differences between Bridge Plan Insurance and Green Cover Insurance.
