Question:

Parents visiting USA with Pre-existing condition I came across your email address while looking up options for medical insurance for my parents who plan to visit the US from Sept 15 to Nov 17 this year. My father will turn 69 tomorrow and is a diabetic with high blood pressure, both of which are under control as of now. He underwent a carotid endarterectomy last year and has been asymptomatic ever since. My mother will turn 62 in December. She underwent heart surgery this past Jan for an aortic dissection and has been asymptomatic as well. She was taking medication for high blood pressure prior to her aortic dissection. Their family doctor has cleared them for all travel. I would like to err on the side of caution and prefer a comprehensive plan. Given these situations, what product would you recommend?

Answer:

Thank you for your inquiry. Insurance will not pay for any routine dr. visit for the existing condition. But most of the plan covers acute onset of pre-existing conditions up to policy max you choose. More information on acute onset of pre-ex, /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ /visitors-insurance-usa-heart-attack-coverage/ You can purchase either Patriot America plus or Atlas America plan.
