Answer:

Hello, Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. However, with the differing status upon you travel here into the U.S. There are plans that you be able to have a visitor into the united States that will not be available once you switch to a F1 visa holder. This plan will not cover any pre-existing conditions or preventative care for a visitor. The acute onset coverage included within the plan is in case of a life threating emergency. Please see the link listed below for more information about an acute onset. If you need any further clarification please feel free to contact our office. Thank you. Could you please advise about which plan should I buy to cover my daughter case? As I don't want to be at risk during my visit . Regards,

With your current status as a visitor to the U.S. there are no plans on the market which would cover a pre-existing condition for a visitor with the exception of an acute onset of a pre-existing condition. Once you are on an F1 you may purchase a plan from the students section of our website which would cover pre-existing conditions but there will also be either a 6 or 12 month waiting period dependent upon which plan you select. F1/F2 visa insurance at, /international-student-medical-insurance/ You may also contact our office at (866) INSUBUY. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Just to conclude my understanding, my dependent children will not be covered from the pre-existing conditions during our stay, even if I got the F1 visa as they will have f2. If I am wrong, please redirect me to a specific insurance plan to buy it. Thanks

In obtaining an F2 visa status you would be eligible for your Universities insurance which would typically be a domestic insurance and that would cover her condition. Or you would be eligible for student plan that will have 6-12 months waiting period for pre-existing conditions. Then there a limited to the coverage provided for the pre-existing condition. Please find student insurance at, /international-student-medical-insurance/
