Question:

Temporary medical Insurance Info requested I am a healthy 37 yr old US Citizen male that now resides in India. I will be visiting the US between Dec 6th and Dec 23rd. What would you recommend me from coverage point of view. Can you please send me and link or info based on yr experience. Thank you,

Answer:

I am assuming that you permanently live in India (that is, at least for the last 6 months) and you are planning to go back to live in India after your short trip to the U.S. In that case, you can buy either Liaison Continent or Liaisom Majestic Insurance. /safe-travels-usa-comprehensive-insurance/ /atlasamerica-insurance/ Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the prompt reply. I live permanently in India, but I recently made a trip for 4 weeks to the US and have returned back to India.. I travel for short term business purpose trips. I will be returning back to India on Dec 23rd from the US again.

As long as the country of residence is not the U.S., it is fine. That is, if you spend less than 6 months in the U.S. in a year, that is fine.

I am kind of concerned with that 6 months factor as I travel regularly for days/weeks visit to US. Considering that what would be a safe bet for me to proceed with in terms of getting coverage? Thanks,

You will have to first define your country of residence. Is it India or the U.S.? If U.S., what state are you residence of and what is your zip code?

India is my country of residence but I make frequent trips like almost every month for couple of weeks to meet clients. This time I plan to be in 15106 in PA for 3 weeks. Thanks.

As long as your permanent country of residence is outside the U.S. and you spend more than 6 months outside the U.S., you can buy Liaison Continent or Liaison Majestic up to the maximum 180 days in a year. If you spend more time in the U.S. than outside the U.S., then your country of residence may be the U.S. and you will be considered U.S. resident. Therefore, the insurance plans would be different. They would be domestic insurance and not travel insurance.

Oh ok.. So if I wanted to take insurance for 3 weeks, would I be able to get something that you can recommend?

/safe-travels-usa-comprehensive-insurance/ or /atlasamerica-insurance/

sorry for not being clear. I was looking for recommendation consindering me as a resident of US to avoid any issues later on.

Please call me.
