query regarding atlas america I have one question regarding atlas america plan. Plan brochure includes following exclusion clause 'Charges for use of emergency room within US for treatment of illness unless patient is directly admitted to the hospital as inpatient for further treatment of that illness ( does not apply to injuries)" Can you please explain this exclusion clause? Does it not cover emergency care at all? or just room charges? Also in comprehensve plan is there cap on every procedure like surgery, hospitalisation? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
If you buy Atlas America and you go to an emergency room, 1. If you have an accident, the eligible charges will be covered normally, just like any other charge. 2. If you have a sickness, and if you are admitted into the hospital, the eligible charges will be covered normally, just like any other charge. 3. However, if you have a sickness and if you are not admitted into the hospital, the eligible treatment charge would be covered but the room charge would not be. This is to avoid the abuse of the emergency room when there is no real emergency.
