Question:

Patriot Gotravel/Platinum America Insurance Hello â€" I am looking for visitor’s health insurance for my father who is 71 years old and has diabetes and high blood pressure. The main reason I am considering comprehensive insurance from U.S. (even if coverage for pre-existing conditions for age 65+ is limited to 2,500) is to get in-network insurance negotiated prices. For example, say I have to go to emergency ward of a hospital within First health PPO network and say it is due to pre-existing conditions I understand this insurance will only cover up to $2,500 (under Sudden and unexpected recurrence of pre-existing condition) but will the rest of the bill will be priced at the insurance in-network negotiated prices or hospitals’ full price where even a pain killer tablet can be for $400?

Answer:

Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The network negotiated rates will only apply to the eligible expenses. So the amount that is valid for the insurance company to pay is what will be at the negotiated rates and max. amount will be $2500. More information on sudden and unexpected recurrence of pre-existing conditions, /sudden-and-unexpected-recurrence-of-pre-existing-conditions/ Patriot Go travel does not cover any travel benefits like evacuation or repatriation. Okay thanks for the clarification. Also how many days after arrival in U.S. you are still eligible to buy Atlas America or Patriot Gotravel insurance?

For the Patriot plans you would have to purchase within 30 days of arrival while the Atlas plans do not have that restriction. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.
