The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)—which was developed by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) created by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB—is an extensive set of technical and operational standards that a company needs to follow to ensure that all companies that process, store, or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.
There are many stringent requirements, including but not limited to:
PCI DSS has six major objectives, 12 key requirements, 78 base requirements, and over 400 test procedures. Click here for more information.
When a business is PCI-compliant, it means that that the business reviews and follows the guidelines set forth by the credit card companies to help ensure your credit card information is protected and your personal information is secure.
I am an international student holding F1 visa in the US. My mother comes here from China recently and will stay in the US for over 5 months. She has caught high blood pressure for over ten years, but her condition is stable by taking some routine medicines. Since she needs to stay here for a long period, I am worried about some acute emergency conditions, such as acute high blood pressure, heart attach or stroke. So I want to buy an insurance plan for her to make us feel safe. I am not sure if those comprehensive plans which can cover acute on-set pre-existing conditions can work in my case, because those plans usually do not cover chronic disease. In my view, high blood pressure is a chronic thing. Could you please give me some information about this to help me decide which health plan I can by on your website? Thanks!
We would be glad to assist.
All plans for visitors on the market, cover new illnesses and new injuries that manifest or occur after the effective date of the policy. The plans do not cover anything preventative, routine or pre-existing.
Anything that an insured already has, known or unknown at the time of application would not be covered by any plan.
Some plans offer an acute onset benefit. If someone has an acute onset of a pre-existing condition that meets the definition provided within the plan's certificate wording, it could be covered based on the doctor's or attending physician's report. The acute onset is a possibility of coverage in the case of an acute onset.
I have attached an acute onset FAQ from our website to provide additional information about what an acute onset is and to provide some examples and scenarios for you as well.
