Hi, I am looking into buying travel insurance for my parents under the acute onset of pre-existing conditions plan. My father had an angioplasty some 5 years ago. Will any sudden heart problem during his travel be covered in the plan? Does the acute onset plan also cover sudden ailments not related to pre-existing conditions? Could you provide me a detailed brochure of coverage if possible? Please advise. Thanks

Thank you for contacting Insubuy. In order for a situation to be covered under the acute onset or pre-existing condition coverage the situation would have to meet the definition. An acute onset is defined as a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition that occurs spontaneously, without advance warning, is rapidly progressive, and requires urgent care. If there was situation which occurred which was considered a new illness, injury or accident the policies are designed to provide coverage for these conditions.
