Comprehensive visitor coverage with pre-existing conditions Hi, I would like to invite my parents for 5 months to US. My dad is diagnosed with early stage cancer a year ago and he is undergoing treatment in India. The doctor in India has cleared him for travel and we don't expect any tests or treatment for this condition in US. Is there a comprehensive visitor insurance that we could buy that would cover unanticipated medical emergency which may/may not be related to cancer?
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. As a broker we provide insurance from many companies. But all the insurance pay for any new sickness, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy. It does not cover any pre-existing conditions and preventive care. However we have some plan covers acute onset of pre-existing conditions. But as per my understanding person who has cancer probability is very less to have some life threatening emergency because of cancer. More information on acute onset of pre-existing conditions. /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ Before we suggest any plan would like to his age, travel dates and which state do you need coverage for him? Once we get these information will be glad to suggest some insurance plan accordingly. Have a great day!
My father's age is 62 and mother's age is 60. Tentative travel dates are : May 1, 2016 to Oct 15, 2016. They will be visiting California.
I will email quotes separately for comprehensive plans. We recommend plans that include coverage for Acute Onset of pre-existing conditions. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.
Just to continue our old conversation, I'm planning to buy comprehensive Liaison continent A plan that includes coverage for pre-existing condition. I have few questions before i make the purchase: 1) Is Liaison continent a good insurance provider? Do they have good customer service if it comes to billing/claim. How is your past experience with them? 2) My parents age changes during the policy period, do i need to split the policy into two?
Answer for your questions below: 1. PPO network for Liaison Continent plan. It’s very good plan. Insurance will cover whatever treatment medically necessary as long as it’s not pre-ex and preventive care. However this plan has acute onset of pre-ex benefits, /safe-travels-usa-comprehensive/acute-onset-pre-existing-conditions-coverage/ Insurance will not pay anything related to cancer. 2. Age group is 60-64 yrs. So there will not be any difference in the premium. It doesn’t matter whether you do one application or separate application. Liaison Continent brochure, instant purchase link, /safe-travels-usa-comprehensive-insurance/ You can find more plans at www.insubuy.com Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
Hi, Thanks for the update. I'll be starting the policy from 4/14, my mom's age at the time will be 59 yrs but she will be 60 on 4/20. Is there any where in the prospectus that says that a policy needs to be changed when the policy holder moves to a different age group during the coverage period?
The coverage would not change for your mother when she goes from 59 to 60 but the premium would increase with most plans upon renewal. For example, if you purchase for one month you would pay the premium for a 59 year old. If you renew the policy the next month you would then be charged a higher premium based on the current age of 60. If you instead purchase the plan for the full duration then that would lock in the premium for a 59 year old for the full duration. She would not have to change plans at any point. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.
