Travel insurance for Japan Does the end day include the last day of international coverage?
That depends upon the insurance plan you purchase. Could you please let me know whether you have already purchased the insurance or you are planning to purchase? What is the name of the insurance plan?
What I need is a plan that covers me while I am in Japan, I'll be staying with my son on a US military base from Oct 27-Nov 5, leaving on the 5th in the evening. The base requirement for me is to have evacuation coverage from Japan to USA and also emergency medical care. They suggest $100,000 minimum coverage. I just found out I need this and I am leaving on Oct 27th so I also need immediate proof of coverage once it is purchased. Can you tell me if any of your plans cover all of this? Thank you for your help,
You can purchase either Atlas International or Liaison Continent, listed at /atlas-international-insurance/ /safe-travels-usa-comprehensive-insurance/ In either of these two plans, you will have coverage till the last date you mention. Therefore, if you need coverage from Oct 27 to Nov 5, those are the dates you will specify. Please note that no insurance plans guarantees evacuation from Japan to USA. The emergency medical evacuation is always to the nearest place where adequate care can be given. However, hundreds of people who are visiting their relative (son etc.) at the US military base in Japan have already purchased the above plans from us and they are acceptable to them.
