Question:

I am in the state of South Carolina studying under the F1 category. I am 41 years and will the needing the coverage on a year to year basis, I am going to be here a minimum of 4 years including my OPT. Please can you explain to me the pre-existing or preventive care - that the insurance will not pay for. I don't understand it. What is the major difference between the patriot exchange plan and the atlas exchange plans? Can I be paying my premium on a monthly basis with my credit or debit cards and would I be getting my receipts generated as soon as possible?

Answer:

Pre-existing means if you have some sickness or injuries before the effective date of the policy will not be covered or if you have manifest some issue within last 3 yrs will be excluded.

Preventive care means if you are fine and you want to go for physical checkup whether you are doing OK or not is not covered. In short, insurance will pay for whatever treatment medically necessary as long as it's not pre-existing or preventive care. You can find more information in the policy certificate wording for each plan.

If you want to purchase insurance monthly, I would suggest to purchase Atlas Exchange plan. We don't send any invoice. You can extend the insurance online and there will be $5 extension fees whenever you extend the policy.

You can call our office at (866) INSUBUY and will be glad to explain this over the phone.
