Do I still need health insurance against COVID in Vietnam if I enter on a different visa in my passport which I already have (dated 29 April 2022) and not on an e-visa? Note that in the one-year period of the visa that I have I will enter and leave Vietnam to go to Thailand to teach every weekend.
As of May 15, 2022, Vietnam has ended its COVID-19 entry restrictions; this includes the requirement for international medical insurance. Travel medical insurance is now optional to visit Vietnam, and the previous requirement to fill out a health declaration form and present a negative COVID-19 PCR test has ended.
Currently, the only requirement for tourist to visit Vietnam is to obtain and eVisa (required for American and Canadian travelers), which can be done online.
However, we highly recommend buying travel health insurance.
