There are a few options that you can considered for coverage. There is a comprehensive plan called The Bridge plan that would be available to your mother for coverage in the United States.
Short term plans are designed to cover any new accidents an new illness that happen after the effective date of the policy. Plans will not cover pre-existing conditions, preventative care, routine visits or medications related to the pre-existing conditions.
