Question:

I am French and I arrived in the USA a months ago. I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (not a student I am a scholar and I have a J1 visa). I am planed to stay a year in the USA for now. I am looking for an health insurance in the US (for now I have taken a French insurance). The university gave me a list of health insurance where you were appearing. I am a little lost in your web site and it sounded easier to contact you by email and ask you which plan can you proposed me knowing that I have some requirements (given by the university): - Maximum coverage for medical benefits cannot be less than $ 100,000 per accident or illness - my insurance should provide at least $25,000 to send my remains home (France) if I die. - If i have a serious illness or injury, I must be send home on the advise of a doctor, and my insurance must pay up to $50,000 for the expense of my travel - the deductible cannot be more than $500 per accident or illness. - my insurance must pay at least 75% or covered medical expenses - the policy may establish a waiting period before it covers pre-existing conditions (health problems you had before you bought the insurance), as long as the waiting period is reasonable by current standards in the insurance industry. - The policy must be backed by the full faith and credit of your home country government or the company providing the insurance must meet minimum rating requirements established by the state department

Answer:

You can review the ExchangeGuard plan or the Patriot Exchange Program.

You can also find additional options on the J Visa Insurance section as any of the plans will meet these requirements.
