International Student Insurance Hi, I am trying to find medical insurance coverage for my 17 year old son to travel to USA from Australia to study at miles community college in Montana for 2 years. he will be playing baseball and it seems that is not covered. is that correct. I don't know what will be the best policy for us. He has to have this coverage before the school issues the i20 so he can then apply for his F1 visa.

We are looking at coverage from 1 Sep 16 to 30 June 17. the university (Miles Community College, Montana) stated that he needs to have "medical insurance coverage". There are no other details or listed requirements. He will be playing baseball for the college and I understand that it will not be covered by these policies. I have just tried to buy the Student SMART plan for $387.84 but it comes up with this message "If the proposed insured is physically located in the Country of Australia during this quoting session, then the purchase of this policy is prohibited and must be cancelled by clicking the cancel button. Otherwise, please click next." I need to get this insurance asap so the school can issue the I20 so we can go to the US Consulate to apply for the F1 visa. Can someone please help me get the right insurance for him so we can get his I20 happening?
That’s correct. You can’t purchase any of the Student secure or Study USA plan if the insured person is physically located in Australia at the time of application.
