I am an Australian expat living in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I would like to know about private health insurance options to cover myself as well as my wife and our 2 children. I understand that you work with the Amerimed hospital here in Puerto Vallarta which is generally acknowledged to be the best hospital. My wife and I are both 39 with no known serious medical conditions. I am an Australian citizen, my wife and our children are all Mexican / Australian dual citizens. I have been living in Mexico for 3.5 years and don't have any intention of leaving within the next few 3-5 years. Our children are aged 12 and 21. Please can you provide me with information about your relevant costs and services.
In your case would recommend and expatriate plan called Global Medical Insurance. As these plans are underwritten you would need to submit an application for coverage. You will need to complete a separate application for your 21 year child as he is no longer able to go on a policy with you.
