Question:

My name is Nour. I am a German citizen and I was offered a position as a post-doctoral researcher in Mount Sinai, NYC. According to the institutional regulations, these requirements need to be fulfilled for a visitor with J1-Visa: - Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness - Repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000 - Expenses associated with medical evacuation of the Exchange Visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $50,000 - A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness I filled out the form "to compare and purchase" that was available on your homepage. Among the comprehensive coverage policies was the one offered by "Atlas America". It looked satisfying to me, but I wasn't sure if it fulfills the federal regulations mentioned above. I am not sure what co-insurance and deductible mean. The period of coverage should include the traveling from Germany to the US, hence the time period from Jan. 27th till Feb. 28th 2017 (inclusive). Could you please help me to figure out which insurance policy is best for my purposes?

Answer:

You can purchase either Patriot Exchange or Atlas Exchange with policy max. $100k. which also covers evacuation and repatriation.

You can find more plans for J1/J2 Visa Health Insurance section on our website.

Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side.

As per the updated requirements set by the U.S. department of state is it recommend that you purchase a plan with a $100k maximum to meet the requirements.
