Visitor Insurance Plan, Pre Existing Conditions I am contacting with regard to a new visitor's insurance plan. I would like to get few information about enrolling a new policy for my parents visiting me. May I know the coverage policy on pre-existing condition on the policy holder. My parents are visiting me for a duration of 6 months. My dad has pre existing conditions of CLD (Chronic liver disease), PHTN (Portel hyper tension) and DM2 (Diabetes Mellitus type 2). I am aware that in general cases pre existing conditions are not covered by insurance plan. But if there is any life threatening situation is encountered, I would like to know what are the coverage options for us.Will he be covered in such situation. Can I get some details please?

There is no plan available on the market which will cover a pre-existing condition for a visitor to the U.S. There are plans which will cover an acute onset of a pre-existing conditions for anyone under the age of 70. An acute onset is a sudden and unexpected recurrence of a pre-existing condition that occurs spontaneously without any advance warning and treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the occurrence.
