Pregnancy insurance coverage for tourists to USA Dear Sir , We are going to travel from IRAN to US within next 4 months if approved to get visa and my wife is 12 weeks pregnant now . I wanted to get a medical insurance in the US and I want to know what options do I have. Does the pregnancy comes under pre-existing conditions? If she wants to give a birth day how we can cover the huge costs of hospital and so on . If my wife goes for a routine check up will she have to pay the cost there and then and afterwards claim the money from the insurance? Are the routine check ups included in the insurance. Sorry for so many questions but it will be much appreciated if you can clarify these if possible.
Hello, Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Unfortunately, there are no plans on the market that will cover a visitor for a pregnancy. You are correct that it would be considered a pre-existing condition and would not have coverage even for the routine checkups. You would have to pay all pregnancy related charges out of pocket.
