I need to purchase insurance to travel from Sierra Leone to Wyoming and back, with stops in Ontario Canada and Maryland. However two things prevent me from buying the Insurance recommended: 1. not available in Maryland (why?) and must have a printed copy filled out (your company helped us deal with this one for my husband's insurance) since we live and work in Sierra Leone. Thank you for your assistance. it was the same insurance he bought. What do you suggest? I will be spending about four days in Maryland before I fly back to Sierra Leone and I don't want to be without insurance there.
We would be glad to assist. The policy you are referring to is the Patriot America Plus plan. You will have to do the paper application because your home country or country of residence is Sierra Leone, however, it will cover you in Maryland as long as the insureds are not going to Maryland first. If Wyoming is the first destination, then the plan will then cover not only in all 50 states including Maryland, but anywhere outside of Sierra Leone. It will only not provide coverage if Maryland is the state you come to first. The restrictions have to do with the State of Maryland. Many plans are not available if that is the primary or first destination when entering the U.S.
