I have insurance to cover my current visit to the USA. I plan to fly home to the UK on 19 September; insurance expires 12:01 on 20 September. If i were to test positive for COVID 19 at my pre-departure test (probably on 17 or 18 September, and was therefore unable to board a flight, and had to remain in the USA for a further 10-14 days, would my existing cover suffice, or should I extend to cover that eventuality?

Answer:

You can still extend your policy even if you are sick so it can continue to cover you during the extra days you have to stay.
