Question:

I am a US Citizen and Resident and I will be taking a year off traveling the world (12/27/16-12/25/17) and was wondering if you had an insurance plan that would best have me covered. I plan to exit the US and not re-enter the US until after my insurance trip coverage dates are complete, but I will be traveling to multiple countries during this time. I am primarily looking for emergency health coverage. I tried your online quote system and Atlas International Insurance looked like a suitable option, do you think that would be a good choice? As an example of the coverage, I would like a case like this be covered: Let's say I traveled to Thailand, and got an infection of some form. The doctor prescribes antibiotics. I would want the insurance to cover both the doctor visit and the cost of obtaining the antibiotics. In this case for a claim, would I contact your company, or the insurance company directly? If I contact them directly, would you be providing any assistance? I was also curious about what would happen if for example, I am stranded in the middle of a rural area and became injured, would I call you guys for an Emergency Evacuation and you would take care of it, or would I have to set that up myself and contact the insurance company for a reimbursement or how would it work? Also, on a separate note, I would like rock climbing to be a covered activity.

Answer:

You can purchase either Atlas International or Patriot International plan. Both plan pay for new sickness, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy and covers travel benefits like evacuation, repatriation, flight accidents or accidental death and dismemberment.
