Question:

Need Help in deciding Insurance My Mom Will be Visiting me This Weekend (she will be here for 6 months). I am Confused on Which USA Insurance to Go with. Comprehensive or Fixed.. ? I have Finalised two Insurance Plans of IMG to choose from (Patriot america and Visitors Care) But wanted a Clarification, My Mother is Having BP (controlled) and was checking if any complication rises (god forbid) due to BP. Patriot america may not help as compared to visitors care as it says pre existing conditions are not covered... please help me to understand in my situation which is the Best Insurance I should be going with. Please suggest if you think any other Insurance is Good to be Purchased. She Had a General Checkup recently and Everything thing Looks under control. Please reply ASAP. Thanks Ramya

Answer:

Ramya, Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitors insurance. First, I would like to clarify that Visitors Care has an optional rider that would cover up to $5,000 ($2,500 for 70+) if the person gets admitted into the hospital due to heart attack or stroke that is due to pre-existing conditions. There is no other pre-existing conditions coverage in Visitors Care. While both Patriot America and Visitors Care are excellent plans, they don't cover any pre-existing conditions (other than as described above for Visitors Care.) We always recommend everyone to purchase the comprehensive coverage plans and never the fixed coverage plan. Patriot America is a comprehensive coverage plan while Visitors Care is a fixed coverage plan. If your mother is below the age of 70 years, you can consider purchasing Atlas America insurance that provides up to $15,000 in acute onset of pre-existing conditions and is not limited to admitance into the hospital due to heart attack or stroke. Therefore, regarding emergencies arising from blood pressure, that might be more suitable to you. Alternatively, if your mother is below the age of 65 years, and if you are willing to buy a minimum of $1,000,000 policy maximum, you can consider purchasing Patriot Platinum America Insurance that covers up to $20,000 in acute onset of pre-existing conditions. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at (866) INSU-BUY at any time.

Thank you So Much! I have decided to go with Atlas America.
