Medical Insurance for visistors from Ontario, Canada My in laws (66 and 67 years old) will be visiting us in IL. They will stay with us for 6 months every year. They are covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plan when they are physically in Canada. That being said, we are only 2 hours away by flight if any non-urgent medical condition occurs while they are in US. I just want to find a medical insurance to cover any urgent issues (for example, stroke, falls from stairs...). It sounds like the comprehensive plan is a bit overkill but the fixed rate plan might not cover anything at all, if I understand it correctly. Please help me choose an insurance plan that not only fits our need but also makes sense cost wise. Thanks,
Fixed coverage plans pay fixed amounts for each procedure which may be a small fraction of the actual expenses. Therefore, we always recommend everyone to buy one the comprehensive coverage plans. You may choose a higher deductible in order to reduce the premiums. You can find several such plans on this web site.
