Question:

I just purchased the International Major Medical insurance for my parents who are both over 60 years old. However I see in the certificate wording that for cardiac related conditions, the maximum eligible expense is 25000 (even though the policy maximum is 250000). If I would like to have a higher maximum for cardiac related emergencies, is buying multiple plans like described here (https://www.insubuy.com/high-policy-maximum-visitors-medical-insurance-for-seniors-visiting-the-usa/) an option?

Answer:

Be advised that the benefit you are referring to would have to be related to a new medical condition or an acute onset.

I have listed our FAQ page regarding Acute onset benefits for you to review below:

/visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/

We have one plan if the proposed insureds are elgible for the plan based on the eligbility requirements, that can provide some pre-existing condition benefits if they are fit to travel and not coming to the U.S. specifically for medical treatment.

For someone who is 60 years old, it would provide a $25,000 benefit for pre-existing conditions with an individual $1500 deductible.

It also has a 90 day minimum purchase and is not extendable.
