General Insurance questions and Auto-renew My mother in law is travelling in a week. She is 64 years old. She plans to stay anywhere between 3 to 6 months. I plan to buy Patriot / Atlas or Liaison in the comprehensive section. My Questions are: 1. I plan to buy month to month. Can I have it auto-renew till I cancel it? 2. Can I purchase $50000 worth comprehensive and increase coverage to 100000$? Can I do it vice-versa? 3. Does buying month to month entail risks in terms of coverage? 4. Patriot, Atlas or Liaison-A. Which one to buy? Could someone tell me what is different? Parsing the legalese and differences is proving to be painful. Do you have a comparison table? 5. I hope to never use this insurance(As everyone does). My only requirement is if I ever need to use it, I should have least amount of hassle and paperwork. On a side note, your email contact on the site is broken (ShareThis does not seem to integrate well with Gmail. The recipient list comes up empty. I am using Google Chrome Version 33.0.1750.154 which is the latest and the greatest as of today).
Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitors insurance for your mother-in-law. 1. You can pay month to month. In that case, you would buy for a month and you can extend it online at /myaccount/ There is no auto-renew as the visitor is not going to stay here forever. 2. No. 3. A. You must extend it before it expires, according to the US Eastern Time. If you forget to extend or if you decide to wait till the last second, it will expire and you will have to repurchase. B. Most plans charge $5 extension fee. 4. You can compare them side by side online at https://www.insubuy.com Just enter the basic information and click 'Search & Compare'. You will see check boxes next to each plan and the orange color 'Compare' button. 5. Please read /international-travel-medical-insurance/ Technical matter: Thank you for reporting.
