Question:

Coris Hertiage procrastinated review and then bailed saying it was a preexisting cond We purchased a policy from Coris Heritage for my mother so she could visit us in the U.S. Unfortunately she had to be hospitalized during her stay with us. We initially submitted the medical claim to April USA in Florida, but they told us after a month that they no longer handled India issued policies. We then contacted Coris Heritage to process the claim. They wanted to review the claim with their in-house doctor and subsequently informed us that the claim would not be paid due to pre-existing condition. My mother was diagnosed with an epilectic attack, which was definitely not a pre-existing condition. She traveled with medications for her pre-existing conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, but not epilepsy as it had not been a pre-existing condition. WE feel that Coris Heritage was looking for any reason to deny the claim and latched onto any one of the possible conditions mentioned in the discharge report as the possible cause of the epileptic attack.

Answer:

I am sorry to hear that you are having difficulties with your claim. I recommend that you purchase the insurance from an US based company the next time.
