Question:

Atlas America vs Protection America I had a question for you. I was thinking of buying Atlas America insurance for my parents because of acute onset condition included in this policy. But then I was reading about how Hygeia network is not known to all providers. Even though their names appear on Hygeia list. I was wondering what happens when we go to them and they don't recognize the insurance company. Also, you recommended Protection america to people because doctors are more aware of First Health network. I was hesitant to buy Protection america because of another reason. They don't cover 100% after deductible when we go in network. Atlas America does. That's a big difference. Is there any other policy with First Health network that would cover 100% after deductible Thanks for your time and advice.

Answer:

1. Atlas America participates in Hygeia as well as First Health PPO networks. Therefore, as long as the provider recognizes either of them, you are fine. Both the logos would be printed on the id card. If they still don't accept it, you can first pay and file for reimbursement. After the deductible, it will pay 80% for first $5,000 and then 100% up to policy maximum. 2. Yes, Patriot Platinum America, at /patriot-america-platinum-insurance/

Thanks for the reply but I was wondering how can Hygeia network have names of the providers when providers do not recognize them. Isn't it wrong on Atlas America/Hygeia Network's part to have doctors listed who they don't have any agreement with. I was wondering what are your thoughts on my above question.
