Question:

Visitors Care Visitors Insurance Questions Hi, I got this link for "Visitor's Care" IMG insurance. It says about maximum benefits, are that the maximum that you're going to pay for three months' coverage for my parents (63,54 years) that I am seeking. What if they've to go for surgery or physian again during the same coverage? Would you pay beyond 3300/450$ upto policy maximum? Please confirm. Surgical Treatment US$2,000 per surgical session US$3,300 per surgical session US$5,500 per surgical session Consult physician US$350 per period of coverage US$450 per period of coverage US$500 per period of coverage

Answer:

Thank you for your interest in purchasing Visitors Care IMG insurance. Policy maximum is a lifetime policy maximum. Therefore, if you exceed $25,000, $50,000 or $100,000, you won't get paid anything after that. Surgery amounts you see below are per surgery. Therefore, if you need multiple surgeries, you will be paid e.g., $3,300 for each surgery, subject to overall policy maximum. Consult physician amounts are for the entire period of coverage. Period of coverage is for however long you buy the insurance and pay for it upfront. When you renew the insurance, your period of coverage (as well as your deductible) begins again. I got your call today morning. One more question : I've searched for quote for my parents (54 and 64 around) for three months. It shows 538$ for three months. Is 50K/100K limit for each of them or combined? Can I upgrade the plan in the middle? If yes, does the money paid for the first plan applies to second upgraded plan? Do you also give Patriot plan? From your experience, which one is better? Regards,

1. Limit is per person. 2. No, you can't updgrade. 3. Yes, we offer Patriot as well. Look at everything we offer. /visitor-insurance/ Patriot is better. Patriot is comprehensive. /visitors-insurance/

Hi, I have few more questions. 1. Does emergency evacuation include flying the insured to the home country, if I decide to send them to India for further treatment? 2. Does emergency reunion means: Can I fly along with the insured to home country (India)? 3. If the death occurs, does my travel expenses covered under this clause to fly to India?

1. No. It does not work like that. No insurance plan from any company covers like that. Emergency medical evacuation always takes the patient to the nearest hospital where adequate treatment can be given. In fact, emergency medical evacaution is rarely used in the US as you would just dial 911 and call the ambulance. 2. Emergency reunion does NOT mean that. This is mainly meant for the people who are traveling to other places alone. Let's say your parents were to go on a Europe tour and not staying at anyone's house. One person gets admitted into the hospital. If the person is in hospital for 7 days or more, and there are no other relatives to take care of, insurance company will pay for someone to be with the patient. That is emergency reunion. 3. Repatriation of remains pays for the body to be sent to home country. It will NOT pay for your (companion's) travel expenses.

One more question : heart disease or stroke, is there anything that covers this incident? I know it falls into exclusion even if insured doesn't have it in the last three years. Does patriot comprehensive cover some extent of heart attack or stroke? Regards,

Insurance company will pay for any new medical conditions, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy. It will not cover any pre-existing conditions. If heart attack or stroke are determined to be new medical expenses, they will be covered just like any other medical expenses. There are no specific exclusions for those diseases. Please read /visitor-medical-insurance-pre-existing-conditions/ for more details.

Hi, Regarding the mortal remains and accidental death benefits: are the 25K part of the policy maximum of 100K/50K limit? Or are they separate? I can see that accidental death is an additional benefit. Is it up and above the policy maximum? Regards,

Medical evacuation: Part of overall policy maximum Repatriation of Remains: Part of overall policy maximum Deatth benefit: Separate benefit.

Hi, If I take one month Patriot comprehensive and then renew it after that, how the pre-existing condition is counted? Is any previous occurrence of condition in previous period is considered as pre-existing in new coverage? Problem with Protection America is it's for min. three months. Regards,

You have got the facts reversed. Patriot America must be purchased for minimum 3 months to be able to renew in future. Protection America can be renewed month by month. If you get into some new medical problem during first month that was covered, it would still be covered in the second month as long as you renew on time (before expiration of the first month).

HI, Are travel dates to and fro are covered, if I choose so? Regards,

In order to cover during travel time as well, you need to put the effective date one day in advance of travel date and end date two dates after the departure from USA.

The wording says that for treatments received outside USA/Canada : no coinsurance. Then I made mistake of purchasing one day in advance of travel and two days after departure. Can I alter the coverage dates then? Regards,

You are not reading it correctly. Outside USA/Canada, there is coinsurance. That means, insurance company will pay 100% after the deductible. You don't have to pay 10% (coinsurance) that you would pay in US/Canada.

Thanks for clarification. My worries are because of savings at risk when something catastrophic occurs. If I weren't worried, I'd have gone for any Indian companies by this time.

I completely understand your point of view. It is better to be safe than sorry. I can understand the worries and anxiety. However, you are in good hands with us. We as a broker, work for you and will advise in your best interest. And by purchasing Patriot America, you have made the best choice possible anywhere.
