Visitor insurance for grandmother My grand mother who is 73 years old is visiting us from India. She will be here next week and will be staying for 3 months. After going thru the forums and doing little research and based your suggestions, i have decided to go with patriot america since it is a comprehensive insurancerenewablerefundable and has a PPO network. However one question i have is that my grand mother is in fine health and she doesn't have any pre existing conditions whatsoever. In the event something happens after she comes here, and if the insurance company rejects the claim saying that it's a preexisting condition, how do we make sure that the illness was not caused due to a preexisting condition Do we need to get some kind of checkup done in india before she comes here and getting a statement that she does not have any preexisting condition
You don't have to get any check up done and you don't have to get any certificat regarding pre-existing conditions. When you get sick, it is determined by the claims department of the insurance company, based on the current treatment records and attending physician statement, whether something is a pre-existing condition or not.
