Question:

Visitor Care Insurance??? Thank you for providing such valuable information and helping us with the insurance. Last time I had purchase Visitor's Care for my in-laws from this website in June 2008. My mother in-law is visiting us again. Has anything changed with the Visitor's Care insurance during this time. I guess it is the best one in the fixed coverage category. If the policy effective date is one day before the actual departure date then will it cover the travel also? I mean any medical issues during the travel and not the baggage insurance or trip delay etc. She has just being diagnosed with BP but she is fine and getting all the required medications. She also has a slight knee problem. do you suggest comprehensive coverage for her? Thank you for your valuable inputs. Regards.

Answer:

You are welcome. We try to help in everyway we can, before, during and after purchase. 1. There have been no changes in Visitors Care since then. 2. That's right. 3. We always recommend comprehensive coverage plans to everyone in every situation. Fixed coverage plans only pay a small portion of actual expenses and you will have to pay the differences beyond that yourself. I hope this answers your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.

Thank you Sir for your prompt reply. 2. So is there any trip insurance that can be bought only for that day's travel? If I try to purchase the trip insurance and enter the departure and and return dates then it is very expensive and it is for the entire period. Maybe something from the airlines itself should suffice. 3. Any preference in the comprehensive coverage. I know that every plan has its own benefits but in general. I was looking at atlas america. Regards.

2. As long as for what you are looking for, just buying the visitors insurance is enough. You don't have to buy any separate travel insurance. 3. Yes, Atlas America Insurance is an excellent visitors insurance plan and highly recommended. It would be the suitable for you. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.

Thank you again for the prompt response. just one final question. If we go for a fixed coverage plan which one do you recommend. I have shortlisted Inbound USA and Visitor Care. I know Inbound has deductible per injury/sickness which I can take care by selecting 0 deductible. Is there any difference in their PPO network? Thank you very much. Regards.

Both Inbound USA and Visitors Care plan are good fixed coverage plans. Please note that, just like the deductible, you get the policy maximum (such as $50,000) as well per every incident in Inbound USA. You can buy it online at /safe-travels-elite-insurance/ There is no PPO network in either of these plans. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.

how a doctor is considered in-network against out of network in both of these plans or is there no such concept? Thanks. Regards.

There is no such concept. If there is no network, there is nothing like 'in-network' or 'out-of-network'. Fixed coverage plans are low coverage plans and pay a fixed amount for each and every procedure. You have to pay the difference. Insurance companies have no incentive to negotiate the prices as they are paying the same fixed amount anyway. That is why there is no network.
