Maryland Renewal Atlas America Hello, I have bought insurance a few times before for my parents from you. I live in Maryland - and the new requirements are a little confusing. I am looking at the Atlas Comprehensive plans. I understand the part that says that if the parents are already in the US, you cannot buy this plan, My parents are not here yet. My question is about renewals - they will be here for 6 months and I would like to buy this in 3 month increments. Will this Maryland requirement cause a problem with the renewal i.e. if I buy now for 3 months (prior to their arrival), when I try to renew, will there be an issue as at that point, they will already be here in Maryland. Should I just buy it for 6 months right now ?
As long as you purchase the policy before they arrive, then you would be able to renew it as needed. So you could purchase it for 2 or 3 months and then renew it before the expiration date. However, if the policy were to lapse/ expire and was not renewed on time, then at that point you would not be able to re-purchase. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
