My husband and I are going to California. We are Italian Citizens and residents of Germany. Is it possible to take out a policy with you? I am looking for a plan which can guarantee a direct payment instead of a reimbursement.
Most of our comprehensive plans participate in the PPO network. So the provider send the bill directly but sometimes some providers may ask you to pay upfront. For pharmacy, short term plans do not have any PPO network so you have to pay first then file the claim for reimbursement. If you need major hospitalization or surgeries, hospital sends bill directly.
