Question:

I'm an international student here in the US and I'm graduating this term. However, I have applied for OPT starting in April and I'm no longer covered by my university for health insurance. So, I would like to have health insurance from Insubuy. I want to ask about a quote for health insurance during my OPT from Insubuy. I would also like to ask: - how does the insurance work? - when does the coverage start? - what kind of coverage do I get? (like eyes, teeth, etc) - how much is it per month? - how long is the contract? Can I cancel the insurance anytime I want? Would you please explain to me how it all works?

Answer:

Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The plans available for someone on OPT will primarily cover you for new illnesses, injuries or accidents which occur after the effective date of the policies. They generally do not cover pre-existing conditions, routine doctors' visits or preventative treatments. There are some options that will provide coverage for pre-existing conditions after either a 6 or 12 month waiting period.

Please view the OPT section of the website for more information on the plans available.
