Help needed on Visitor's comprehensive insurance My Dad and Mom are traveling to US in the month of June and would be staying with us for 3 months and 6 months respectively. I have the following questions in regards to that: 1. Can you please suggest me one good comprehensive medical insurance that I can use for doctor's visit in case they get sick? 2. Can I take them to my regular PCP with the suggested insurance in the event they get sick? How do I know if they will accept the insurance that I buy from here? 3. Can I take them to Emergency care with the suggested insurance if required? 4. In the event they have to leave early, would there be a refund of the premium for the unused days? Thanks for your help.
1. Look at Patriot America, available at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ Yes, you can take them to Dr. if they get into any new sickness after the effective date of the policy. 2. Yes. Read /international-medical-ppo-network/ 3. Yes. 4. After the effective date, as long as no claims have been submitted since the effective date, you will get the pro-rated refund minus $50 cancellation fee.
Mom has type 2 diabetes an is currently on insulin. If any complications arise directly or indirectly associated to the ailment, would that be covered by Patriot America or is there any other plans that would partially/fully cover. I was reading about Atlas also. Which is a better plan? Patriot America or Atlas. Thanks
Diabetes is definitely considered as pre-existing and any expenses not covered. Both Patriot and Atlas are excellent plans. However, as they are from two different companies, there are few differences. You can visit https://www.insubuy.com and compare them side by side to see which feature difference is more important than others.
i am looking for visitor insurance for my in-laws who are arriving tomorrow. I have looked all the plans and found patriot America as the best as it gives 90/10 and various deductible options. My in-laws will stay for 4 months here and in case if they stay longer for 2 more months, can I extend the plan without having any effect on my deductibles? and for example, if something happens during the first 4 months, will this be considered as a pre condition in the extended period? TIA
Yes, you can extend it for next 2 months. Deductible is still annual. If something was covered in first 4 months, it would be covered in 5th and 6th month also.
thanks for the quick response. I have a question, is there any difference between insuring jointly and doing it separately. if I have to do for my in-laws, can i add my Mother-in-law to father-in-law as spouse coz, when i do it jointly it says primary insured and spouse. Is there any difference as far the coverage is concerned? TIA
You should buy them separately. Please look at the specific FAQ addressing this exact question at /visitors-medical-insurance/
thanks, that helps and i have gone through all the faqs. I will do it separately . Cheers
