We are taking a multi-week trip to 2-3 different ski resorts Feb and March 2021. Last ski season, ski resorts shutdown due to Covid, then soon after the town we were staying in shutdown and in essence as lodgers, we were "kicked out" and couldn't complete our trip to the next destination. I am looking into CFAR trip insurance this time around. Should we buy *separate policies* for EACH destination since CFAR is only effective if we cancel BEFORE the trip starts? Meaning, we buy Policy 1 for Destination 1 of x weeks; we buy Policy 2 for the next destination of x weeks, and so on. That way, at each juncture of our trip, we have a chance to cancel the next leg if Covid resurges. My understanding is that once we *start* a trip, then CFAR insurance is no longer effective. So, if we insure the ENTIRE trip (all destinations) under one (1) CFAR policy, start our trip, and then Covid resurges to the point of closings so we can't finish our trip, then we would lose any remaining non-refundable costs. Does this make sense what i am asking? Thanks for any guidance.
This would all be considered one trip. We would recommend that you take a look at the plan Travel LX that will offer the CFAR benefit that would include coverage for Interruption for Any Reason (IFAR) that would pay up 75% of the non refunabalde trip cost.
