Should I buy the travel insurance before buying my plane ticket? Or in another words, does travel insurance cover the cost that I paid for this trip but before purchasing the insurance? Just speaking of in case of trip gets canceled for visa issue or etc. (ie: booked plane ticket before purchasing a travel insurance. If trip has to cancel because visa got denied, is the plane ticket refundable?)
Trip cancellation insurance cannot be purchased until after your initial trip deposit has been made. Visa issues unfortunately, not considered to be a valid reason for cancellation.
In order to be able to recoup cost for this sort of cancellation reason your would have to purchase a plan that offered coverage for Cancel For Any Reason provided you are eligible. You can find these plans in the Travel Insurance section of the website.
