Schengen insurance cancellation question Hello, I'm a french citizen about to marry an U.S citizen, she's gonna travel to France on a visitor visa for a year and we'll marry during that stay (the consulate is aware of it as the visa is requested with the intent of marriage). She'll need health insurance as per visa requirements, but once married as a french citizen i'll be able to add her to my state and work health insurance plans. Thus we wouldn't need her health insurance anymore (her visa status will also change due to marriage). Will it be possible to cancel the plan then even if it's not a full year? Thanks for your response.
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. We are a broker, and offer all of the major plans on the market. Most of the plans will give you a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the insurance minus a cancellation fee as long as no claims have been filed since the effective date. We would be more than happy to recommend the appropriate plan. In order to do so, can you please list the visa requirements? You may also obtain a plan recommendation over the phone by contacting our office at (866) INSUBUY.
The visa requires a coverage of emergency medical expenses up to $50,000 and repatriation and no copay or deductible. These conditions will have to be stated on the letter provided. Speaking of which, will this letter be available to download immediately after subscription? As far as refunding goes if the cancellation happens at say the 6 months mark, the value of those 6 months will be refunded minus the fee as long as the insurance wasn't used, correct? Thanks for your help,
